Want to visit Bramble Gap before everyone else?
I’m putting together a small early-reader list for my first Bramble Gap novel, a small-town Appalachian story about coming home, starting over, and finding your place somewhere you never expected to stay.
There’s a mountain mercantile, a wobbly cat, a gruff carpenter, a suspiciously clever crow, bees, diner pie, old family recipes, and a little gentle mountain magic that may or may not be magic at all.
If that sounds like your kind of place, I’d love to have you on the list.
What does “early reader” mean?
Early readers may be invited to read a pre-publication copy of the book before it’s available to the public. Depending on where the book is in the publishing process, I may ask for different kinds of help:
Story feedback
A small number of readers may be asked for general impressions before the final polish: what worked, what confused you, where the story dragged, and which characters you wanted more of.
Launch reviews
Closer to publication, early readers may receive an advance copy with the hope that they’ll consider leaving an honest review when the book goes live.
There is no requirement to praise the book. Honest feedback matters far more than polite applause.
This might be for you if you enjoy:
- small-town fiction
- slow-burn romance
- Appalachian settings
- women rebuilding their lives after forty
- found family and nosy neighbors
- cats with opinions
- bees, crows, gardens, and old recipe boxes
- magic that keeps one foot firmly planted in the dirt
A quick note
This is not a promise that everyone on the list will receive an early copy. I’ll be keeping the first round fairly small so I can manage it properly.
But if Bramble Gap sounds like somewhere you’d like to spend time, this is the best place to raise your hand.
